  1. I am carrying out research on Colonel James H. O’Neill who was Chaplain with the Third Army under General Patton in Europe during 1944-45. He composed the ‘Weather Prayer’ for General Patton just prior to the Battle of the Bulge in December 1944.

I would be delighted to hear if any of the Third Army Veterans remember Chaplain O’Neill during or after WW11. He retired as Brigadier General and Deputy Chaplain of US Forces in 1952.

Do any of the Veterans remember the ‘Weather Prayer’?

    Yours sincerely
    Dr Eddy Fitzgerald

  3. Hi, my name is Palmy, I live in N.Y. My uncle, Jose F Romero served with the 338th Engr. Service Regt. in WW 2 in Italy. He helped to construct roads and bridges and cleared minefields and booby traps for advancing troops. I would like to know if he served in Cassino or Ansio, Italy. It appears that all his records were burned in a fire. If anyone who served in the 338th Engr. Service Regt sees this post I would appreciate getting any info that would help me to get the information I need.

  4. I’m looking to find information about my father who served in the USMC durning WWII in the Pacific theater. His name was Joseph Rudolph Schwab.
